Now, I just need to wait for it to come in at the end of March.
I also reminded him he needed to put 2 new rubber lever end covers on the new one for me before I would accept it
Congratulations.
Don't really think I'd ever give a dealer anything before I had the vehicle in my hands, but that's me (time value of money, etc.).

Yea no biggie... It's winter, I can't ride. It will give him a chance to sell them in the meantime. It's all good. If I didn't have a relationship with this dealer I wouldn't do that though.

Congratulations The ferret! I also went to my dealer today to get a deal done on the '14 Deluxe, but he was out of town. Instead I bought a jacket, gloves, and a tail bag! I do plan on keeping the '13 for my son to ride though.

Being the dealer is picking up your rides on Friday, I predict winter should end at the stroke of midnight Friday. Sun will be shining with 65 deg by noon each day until March 31, then April showers. What a nightmare!

Congratulations on your soon-to-be acquisition. We await your observations and photos!
Having a good personal relationship with a dealership is very helpful.
Last week I traded my five year old CBR1000RR for a new Ninja 636 (daddy needs a new track bike!). I rode the CBR down to the dealership to drop it off even before the 636 had arrived to their store. The whole deal was done with the sales manager, through text messaging over the course of about one hour. When I dropped off the CBR, he's the one who drove me back home.
Being the dealership carries Honda/Kawasaki/Suzuki, I have many new bike options.

Congrats! FYI, I was looking to trade one of my CB1100's on a Royal Enfield Continental GT. They were willing to give me $6,000 as trade in value. KBB trade in value is $5,750. I didn't do the deal. Instead I bought a 1974 Vespa Rally 200 scooter. Don't ask... Doesn't sound like you got a bad deal. I agree, you and dealer both are happy, and that's what counts. The dealer needs to make money to stay in business...
