I believe the deluxe models will all be ABS but don't quote me on that as written in stone. At least it's not the complicated linked system like the nightmare on my ST 1300.
Note it would be a linked system, just not the same system of linking as on the Goldwing and ST which is a nightmare.

Anyway, the thing to remember with new things is that it's not always win-win. One of the things that slightly puts me off the new 2014EX is the revised curb weight of 260kg (573lbs) - that's pretty heavy for a bike only producing 88bhp. My XJR13 has a curb weight of 245kg and that feels heavy when moving about. Hope the extra weight of the wheels and exhaust doesn't spoil it too much or let it get a reputation as a bit of a slouch when riding.

The 2014 is not faster or better handling. And it's still not available which makes the 2013 the better choice at the present to ride and/or modify.

Ferret, what are the nightmares with ABS on the ST and Goldwing? I been thinking of finding a use one to take longer trips on with the wife on the back. The ST, if it had been in the showroom when my wife finally let me in the Honda Dealership may have been my purchase over the CB.

It is a very complicated system, with a secondary master cylinder that is prone to issues, or as it's known on the ST board as " the dreaded smc". On older models 2007 and older they were prone to corrosion and malfunction. In 2008 Honda changed the design. Honda recalled and replaced all the SMC's with a new design on the Goldwings, but the ST guys are still fighting for a little respect. It takes a genius mechanic to bleed the system properly. I had mine bled at a Honda dealer before heading out west and ended up spending 3 days including riding the Beartooth Highway and Chief Joesephs Pass with no rear brakes. On the way home I dropped it off at the dealer. It took them 5 tries to get it bled right. I haven't had any issues with my smc yet, (my issues were just from the bleeding process) at 37,000 miles, but it seems it will be inevitable.

not a good news.
I just might change the front sprocket to lower engine rev and have a perfect bike. first gear of the CB is low, one more tooth means nothing.

I'm guessing that the extra weight will mostly be felt when moving the bike around in the garage. As very few people are buying the CB1100 with performance at the top of the list of their priorities, the difference this additional weight would make when riding might be insignificant and would be offset by the lower revs out on the highway that many desire.

My plan too, the only new feature on the 2014 models that interests me at all is the 6th gear. I do not like spokes, and as far as the exhaust, either one is good, I prefer the 4 into 1 personally, but that is just me. Frankly, at some point, I will probably have an aftermarket exhaust of some sort anyway, so it's a wash. I like the seat just the way it is, thank you, I am 5'8" tall and I like the way it sits lower to the ground, the new seat is taller, that is a minus for me.
We are all different, I bought my 2013 because I LIKE it. If the 2014 variants had come out in 2013, along with the present model, and they were all in the showroom next to each other, I would head straight to the present model (2013), and say, "they all look great, but this is the one I want", I would then purchase it, be on my way, and not look back.
This bike is everything I was hoping for, and more. I absolutely enjoy every ride. Maybe I am in the minority in this string, but this bike sometimes feels like Mr. Honda made it just for me. So no, they did not fail at anything with this bike.
In about three years, when the bike is paid off, I might look around and see if I want something new, until then, I am riding it, enjoying it, and looking forward to many years of fun. As Don Henley says in that song, "Don't look back, you can never look back".
I'm not looking back
Cheers! Ride on

Took a very small ride on a 78 Goldwing this morning. Similar power but almost 200lbs more. Very little acceleration. Eye balls remained round. Arms were not stretched and time did not compress. The CB will get and go (not like my Griso and not like some super sport bike, but she will move out). Handling was pretty good with nice low speed manner; and torque seemed to be down a bit compared to the CB1100.
The CB1100, she's a keeper.

Now you just need to find someone to start making larger c/s sprockets
