Either somewhere on planet earth there are CB 1100's with Electronic Traction Control, or, waiting for my 2014 to arrive is causing me to have some very imaginative dreams!
Yes saw the light ( at 4:02 in the vid) and wondered what the heck? Also seen the ETC lit up like you are talking about but don't remember where
Man, that red EX is just stunning...STUNNING!

Some (maybe all, I don't know) Hondas in Australia are fitted with the factory HISS—Honda Ignition Security System. Your key has a chip which must be recognised by the bike for it to start. When you take the key out, the red light blinks to indicate the system is active. It blinks for 24 hours and then stops, although the system remains active. You can turn it off.
From [url=http://world.honda.com/Tokyo2005/safety_ecology_security/]Honda's website:
Quote:H.I.S.S./Anti-Theft Ignition Switch Helps Prevent Tampering and Theft
[H.I.S.S. (Honda Ignition Security System)] This is Honda's unique, electronically controlled security system. A chip in the original ignition key recognizes signals from the Engine Control Unit and sends a special ID verification signal. If the signals do not match, the engine will not start.
From the CB1100 manual:
I think you can replace 2 keys. After that, if you need a new one, you have to get a new ignition system.
So why doesn't the US have this system?

How could you just refine an already decent bike and force me to visit my dealer, only to pledge to throw all my hard earned money at him for the next couple of years!? Should I even add the fact that it's for a bike that hasn't reached our shores yet!? I'm even on a first name basis with Takashi who probably knows more about my bank account than I do! I tell ya, it feels like when I was 15 waiting for 16 so I could get my license. Why is the end of March so far away!? What if the boat it comes over on, sinks?

Oh the humanity!!
I heard from a reliable source today that Simi Valley (in California) have received their 2014 CB1100's.

When I was a kid growing up in OK back in the late 60's and early 70's, you could get a license to ride or drive anything at age 16. But, at 14 you could get a license to ride a bike no larger than 125cc. My first bike (when I was 16) was a '68 CB160. What a great bike!

For God's sakes man! Where the hell did you find THAT video??? The 2014s with spoked wheels are simply STUNNING! Any color would be fine with me....the black version, in my eyes, kinda has a "Nighthawk S"-ish look to it............just needs a bikini fairing and red instrumentation!
Christy (my gf) I love you to no end, but those CBs with the spoked wheels and dual exhausts are like seeing the perfect girl at the beach with a stunning "two-piece" on, just strutting her stuff.
A year ago, I was lusting after the 2013 CB, but after seeing that damned video "lusting" doesn't even come close to the emotions I feel now.
In a way, its almost like the guys at Honda "over-thought" what the first release should look like, then after settling down they all decided that the 2014 is what they should've released to the world from the beginning.
I know I'm rambling, but I'm certain you guys understand..................

After looking half the winter for a decent nighthawk and then waiting the other half to get it here I am chomping at the bit also. If I had not been able to get out on it a couple of days on it I would be in a rubber room right now. I have the fever that bad. I have been trying to occupy my spare time by doing little things to my 750 to be ready for better weather and getting to know what I have better.
As to the new CB11, that thing is just gorgeous. The black one does have a Nighthawkish look to it. I like it and the deluxe. The more I see them the more I like them and that is a scary thought.

You guys notice the snow along the road in that video? It was pretty cool out when they shot it. Spring time in Minnesota!
There many bits about the 14 I really like; but say I get the 14, then in 2015 or 2016 even more cool stuff is added and I'll have to get that one.
Meh, I'll let things settle out a bit. I was quite keen on picking up a naked GL1000 but now that I have the CB1100, as nice as the old GL's were, the CB is superior. Odd how reality leaves the golden past in the dust.
Oh hell, maybe I should get one anyway.
Another minor point I need to double check, but it appears to me the horns on the 14 are a wee bit further apart than the 13. Am I seeing things? Something about them looks different.
