Sourcing oil and oil filters online
#1
I did some digging through previous posts and didn't find anything related to this specifically so I'm just gonna ask the question myself...

Do any of you have a favorite online retailer for Honda oil and oil filters? Normally I like to keep my money local and would prefer to give my business to local dealers but, here in the Twin Cities they're all way out in the 'burbs. For this and other reasons, it would make my life simpler if I could purchase consumables online and have them shipped to my front door. Any suggestions?

if you type the part number to the Honda oil filter in Google, an internet filter retailer will pop up and they sell 6 packs of oil filters pretty reasonably.

Here found it

disclaimer I have never bought from them, I buy mine locally because they are only 9 miles away and they give me a little discount

I'm thinking the oils shipping will cut into any discount you may get on actual price.

I didn't buy my bike from my local Honda dealer but buying oil, filters and other such things from them gives me a chance to get to know the people there. I'm thinking this is useful for when I might need service, plus it's always fun to look at the new bikes.

I don't use the dealership as a free place to try stuff out knowing I'm going to buy it online later, since if I worked there I would really hate that.

Speaking about oil... I have genuine Honda 1 Gallon 4 quarts oil in my garage, which sits on the shelf for the last 7 months. I bought it I think in September last year.
We had a quite cold winter here and garage is not heated.

Is the oil still good to use, or I need to buy new one ?.

Container was never opened, and it is sealed. Just wonder if the cold temperature ( we had few days with -20 F) could damage it.

If you think about it oil sitting on a Michigan or Wisconsin dealers shelf in Sept when it starts snowing is probably still sitting there for you to buy in April or May when it thaws out up there, that could be 8 or 9 months.
