First off I don't know a single person who ever owned a klr and second off most cops, firemen and military veterans ride Harleys. Look at all the police, fire and military veteran motorcycle clubs out there. In my club its about 95% Harleys and 5% mixed with Indian, victory and some Japanese brands. I've seen lots of doctors and lawyers on bmw and other types of adventure bikes but no group is really set on one brand or style. The OP is a little off on his perceptions. I think the people who ride the CB1100 are generally anyone who likes retro looks with modern technology. I remember the bikes from the late 70s and early 80s because when I got to start riding I had to buy older used bikes untill I could afford new. Got my first bike in 1988 at the age of 17. I'm Uscg reserve and NYPD. My club is the Blue Knights and I own a 2014 Ultra classic and a 2014 CB1100.

50 years old. Riding 25 years. Notable previous bikes: HD Sportster, Low Rider Custom, Heritage Softail, CBR600F3, GSXR750, Hyabusa, ZRX11 and 1200 and ,most recently, Triumph Thruxton. After all that I like bikes that do everything well and the CB definately fits for that. Mostly a commuting rider these days but I'd take the CB long distance if that type of ride came up.

I should have quoted your original post. It's much tamer since you modified it. Sad

I retired from the construction industry, partner in an industrial construction company and a CPA. Lifelong rider, usually keep a bike about 8-10 years then get another. Usually have more than one in the garage. Don't believe in developing an emotional attachment to an inanimate object. Quite a few bikes and brands over the years, all good and some great. Lots of fun times riding.
Fond of Japanese bikes and Honda in particular, dependable engineering and rock solid dependability without butthole burning prices for parts or service.
Honda has had "directional" problems with their street bikes for a while - as far as I'm concerned - but I really wanted a simple basic bike with enough power to go anywhere without being surrounded by Tupperware.
Found the CB by accident, local dealer didn't have one. Came close to buying an Indian Scout but had a hard time with the cruiser styling.
Cafe racer lite suits me just fine. Got enough time on my hands to look forwards to tinkering and fine tuning. Gas mileage going up as I ride it more and more.
Which way to Nova Scotia?

No apology necessary—to me, anyway. I was having a bit of a joke. Beer
