It's Home
#1
This Lucky Duck picked his new 2013 this morning. Yep, I was up early(usually am). Wife and I off to Chaparral, yep it was that bike. Wrote check, signed bunch of papers, checked out bike, rode home. Quick lunch then wife fired up the CBR250R and off we went. Am really impressed with this bike, extremely comfortable, handles real nice. I like this bike alot, it just seems to kinda operate on it's own, like I'm just along for the ride, wait maby that is how it is suppost to be. Real nice bike for an old fart like me. Everyone have fun and ride safe.

Welcome Lukeduck!

If you're close to Chaparral you're close to where I grew up and where my son lives now. We usually go to Chaparral when I'm there just to ogle all the gear and bikes.

Watch out for Papa Weeley when you're out on the roads, he's a loose canon.

The CB1100 does almost operate on its own, which is great when underway, but keep an eye on 'er; what she wants to do under 2 mph is lay down and take a nap.

Greg - Hope the damage was minimal. I've done that a couple times on other bikes. Maybe some nice farkle type replacement parts?

Thanks John. Scratched stock exhaust, right case cover and bar end. The rubber lever thingy was torn and my ego bruised.

Oddly, it took a lot longer to install the replacement thingy than it did the first time. What finally worked for me was to wash my hands and the thingy with soap and water, dry with towel. Apply a tiny bit of something slippery, I used silicone spray, making sure to get none on the outside or on my fingers. Warm it and the lever slightly with a hot air gun and push it on with 3 or 4 fingertips.

I was too impatient to read through the huge Rubber Lever End Thingies thread to find the best way to do it.

Lukeduck, well done. Enjoy the new ride.

Greg, bummer. But welcome to the club. Once I think I may have been its sole member, but no so any more.

Glad you're OK.

A bike on its side is a sight I hate to see.
I noticed right away the weight of the CB compared to my other bikes and made a mental note to "watch it" at slow speeds and when stopping off the pavement.

The bike looks good even laying on the ground. Hey Greg, where did you get the tank side pads & the red rear shock inserts? They look great.
