Yesterday I took my 2014 DLX for a short 60 mile trip on the BRP.
I noticed a couple of important things , but it could be just me and not the bike.
I found the throttle response much better on the 2014 than the 2013, it was not bad on the 2013 but as it was my first bike will fuel injection it took me a while to get used to it.
Perhaps they had to reprogram the ecu for the different exhaust system but I think that it is better and not just me getting used to fuel injection.
I also thought that the bike handled better from the start, I have the same Bridgestones tires but I feel more confident on the 2014 .
It could be in my head, but after I put Ohlins on my 2013 it felt much better.
The settings on the 2014 are the same as before on the 2013.
Is it the weight or something else but the bike feels more planted.
The front fender looks cleaner as well as there is no crossover from the brakes.
I really like the looks much better on the 2014 , my riding buddies feel the same.
I think Honda could have sold a lot more if they had the looks of the 2014 in 2013 and had more colours available.
I do not see a 2015 coming out after seeing 5 unsold 2013 last Friday at Southern Honda Powersports in Chattanooga TN

the xtra 30 lbs is what I don't like .. but if it helps the bike to be more planted on hiway, it is a trade off.
i think i will trade my '13 for the '14 in the future ... just completely break-in the bike. It is now very smooth, I don't like to go thru the process of beaking a new bike all over again.
we talk about $6K difference right? same candy red color is very nice.

Hope you've wrong about a 2015 model year - or that 2014 Deluxes are still plentiful next year.
Very interesting observations. Thanks for sharing. I agree on the looks.

I'm surprised that people are unhappy with the CB's throttle response. It's been highly praised in almost every review. Looking at the dyno chart its stunning how perfect the torque line is. My CB is the smoothest running bike I've ever ridden with the exception of a Goldwing.
Could these bikes be defective from the factory?

It was not that the 2013 was not smooth on the throttle response, more me having to get used to fuel injection.
We meet MANY riders on the BRP at the Pisqua Inn and their Country store and many complain about their fuel injection on their bikes (Not Honda,s)
You are right about the fuel injection , the CB1100 being better than all of them.
I like the gear indicator but can not say anything about the 6 gear yet as I only got up to 4 !
No problem having the indicator switch in a slightly different position but the green arrows are a little more difficult to see.
I have no regrets buying the 2013 but would have waited for the 2014 if I had known that they would be coming out and be so nice.

I too am a little surprised at unfavourable comments about the fuel injection on the CB. It's a dream compared to the abrupt throttle on my CB900F. It took me quite a while to get used to that after riding carb'd bikes all these years. The CB throttle is very progressive and smooth and I couldn't want anything better.
At first I had a lot of trouble with the signal light switch being reversed compared to years ago, but I was wearing heavy winter gloves then. Now that I'm wearing lighter summer gloves I have a better feel and sensation through my leather covered thumb. I can "feel" where my thumb is without looking, and it's not really a problem any longer.
Should there not be a 2015 model I have the bike I want and couldn't be happier - and will be for many years I'm sure!

I have not read or heard one single word about the 13 or 14 being bad fuel injection or throttle response. Houtman just said the 14 felt a little better which it should being a newer model and they always trying to make each new model a little better each year of any make of bike! I never rode a 13 but I'm sure it's great and I will own one. One day. Still new ones on the floors and there will be lots of nice low miles used ones for sale.
