Today was a good day
#1
Today, after many years out of the saddle, I picked up my 2014 EX from my local dealer.

Today I woke up to heavy rain, which cleared to blue skies and fluffy clouds before I set off.

Today I didn't need the waterproofs I had bought in anticipation of the end of our heat wave which coincided with my pickup date.

Today I added 75 miles to the 250 already on the trip counter.

Today I didn't drop or ding her, despite my inept skills, the efforts of various cars, dawdling foreign car drivers, and a homicidal caravan towing van driver.

Today, my wife tells,me the bike looks 'really nice' and is almost tempted to throw her leg over.

Today ended with an excellent curry from our local takeaway and (several) glasses of red wine.

Hard to see how tomorrow could better this...but I'll try....

Congratulations. Tomorrow, grab the sunscreen, thermals, mesh jacket, leathers, wet gear, dry gear and get the missus to pack a pannier of pork pies and hit the streets. Land's End to John o' Groats - that's how you can make tomorrow a better day. And don't forget to stop at the Ace on the way. The Missus might like to pillion it.

Cheers, and once again congrats. You will love your bike.

Ah, yes, well, I think that I have to come to terms with the fact that my brief encounter with Kawalady, has run its' course.

She was there on Saturday, but ignored me in favour of a couple of young studs who were looking over a bright green thing with curvy bits of plastic on.

I'm beginning to think that her interest in me was somewhat mercenary.

Also, the presence of my wife, who drove me to the dealers, did rather limit my options.

Incidentally, the current Mrs Squid has decided that the CB is clearly female, and needs a name.

Any suggestions?

Poor chap. I suspect that was always the likely outcome.

Mrs Squid is very perceptive. Beware lest she suspects a rival. Meanwhile, member [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3065]ThomWill has christened his CB1100 "Katie". That name's taken; but, otherwise, the sky's the limit.
