I was at a gas station in the supermarket parking lot when I see this guy running across the lot towards me. I didn't recognize him, so I was wondering what was going on. Apparently, he had seen me enter the parking lot and chased me down to get a good look at the CB1100.
He mentioned that the bike had looked big when he saw one in the showroom, but looked smaller with an actual person on it. I told him it was a very comfortable ride and about the same size as the early 80s liter bikes it mimicked. I think the lack of plastic bodywork makes 'em look smaller than the typical modern literbike. From the look in his eye, I have a feeling we may get a new member from AZ soon

I'm always surprised by how small these bikes look, even with a smallish rider like me on them.

I've also had people comment that the bike looks small.
But at 545 lb (247 kg) it sure doesn't feel small

The first CB I saw was in the Honda tent at Biketoberfest in Daytona. I'd already put down my deposit at the dealer for a March delivery. Coming off the VStrom 1000 it definitely looked small, and I had a few second thoughts. I also noticed the headers were really dirty and was surprised Honda hadn't tidied up their demo bike before putting it out on display.
Alls well that ends well though. Ive found the compact size makes the bike more fun to ride, not less, and I have a hobby now seeking new and exciting processes for cleaning stainless steel in the privacy of my own garage.

Adding my K&H High seat has helped it feel less cramped for my long legs, actually I did not "think" the stock seat/postion seemed cramped until I put the stock seat back on once after using the K&H for a week or so, then the stock seat made me feel cramped with legs being to close to pegs.
Also on a size note, I am very surprised how small the real sport bikes look these days, they are like miniature ( GSXR-750, ZX10, etc) not the open top speed champs like ZX14 and Busa.

The CB1100 felt like a toy when I first purchased it after riding a ST1300 for 5 years. The CB feels more nimble than any other bike I have ridden and my knees definitely appreciate the weight of the CB versus the ST.

Funny, having ridden only my Bonneville for the few months preceding my purchase of the CB, the CB felt frikkin' HUGE.
Strangely enough, even compared to my previous ride, an '05 FZ1, the CB feels big - or let's say very heavy - to me.
