I was down in Wilmington NC last weekend and went into the Honda dealership looking for a Goldwing. I have been in this dealership several times and have seen this bike. I don't believe its for sale, its real hard getting info out of this dealership, they don't even know your there unless you approach them for info.
In a row, 1978 CBX Supersport, CB1100 and the Wing.

Mitch,
I'm down there often, bought a retirement home back in 2003 in the Porters Neck area. What happen to Britt?? They went out of business a couple years ago. Big retailer with a great inventory. Did anyone take over there Kawi, Suzuki lines in Wilmington??

That's so cool...a 0 miles CBX.
There was an article in one of the journals a while back about a CBX that was found still in the factory crate. Honda gave CBXs to High Schools for their shop classes to learn on. This one had been pushed into a storage room and forgotten for 30 years. IIRC, the guy who found it bought it for a song. He said he'd never start it or even put oil in it. I wonder if this is the same bike?

Wouldn't the engine possibly seize if never started in 30 years? No oil would make matters worse, IMO.

if i remember correctly, the old man ,who recently died, who has owned the honda shop from the beginning, told me it had been in the shop since it was uncrated and was never bought.his son now runs the shop and i don't think he wants to sell it either.a funny thing, in the picture u can see the 2014 cb1100 right beside it and the cbx looks like a modern bike beside it.

Wow!!! the CBX's pipes and lines are so clean. I really enjoyed watching Jay Leno's garage episode on the CBX:

Look at the similarities between the cb1100 and cbx... the wheels, disk brakes, forks, tank shape.. . would it be fair to say that the cbx is the cb1100's closest relative? or perhaps the cb400?

The school bikes was the 81 models cbx. They did not sell having the fairing and saddle bags etc! So honda flooded the training schools with them. Same bike as Jay Leno! In 82 honda made the same bike in white with blue stripes not many was made. That was the end of the cbx bikes. The 79 & 80 models are the best ones with the 79 being the best with hotter cams than the 80 models There was more 79 built than any other year! But the 79 still brings the most money being the first year and the hotter cams! The tank lines do favor the CB1100 more than the honda CB750k. The 2013 CB1100 is the same color as the 79 cbx candy glory red. 79 has red or silver. 80 models were red or black. 81grey color 82 white There was a few cbx sandcast bikes built but very very few!
