But it's a good thing. I'm hoping my lightly cafe'd 1978 Yamaha Triple is going to be roadworthy by Bikenight this Thursday. Then I'll be able to ride it while younger sons CB will be out of commission for a bit.
Plan is to send the ECU to Guth for the reflash, and during the wait, fit the oem chrome engine guards and the new Ikon rear shocks.
Really looking forward to the reflash Wink

Sounds like an excellent plan. Looking forward to reading your impressions following the reflash as well as the Ikons. Two things that are my list of "Hmmm....maybe."

Man, I've got my hands full with the forum as it is, I don't think I'm prepared to take on reflashing ECUs on top of everything else.

Now Guhl on the other hand, might be able to help. Big Grin

That will never work. After racking up the miles on the CB, you really think you'll be satisfied with that Yammie triple? Lol

Just kidding. Have a great time at bike night and post up some pics of the triple when ypu get it finished.

Careful when pulling and installing the ECU the holder is a bit flimsy. Delicate handling is necessary not to snap the support.

Sorry Guth! When it gets there, can you forward it on to Guhlmotors? LOL
I'm not taking the ecu off, my good buddy HondaManRC51 is an experienced Honda (among many other makes) mechanic. Once he's done with the triple I'll pick it up and drop the CB at the same time. I got Eric the chrome engine guards and the Ikons as a little bit of a contribution to make up for me riding it so much, although Eric hasn't complained at all. When my sons got their licenses back over 20 years ago, they pretty much rode anything and everything I had in the garage, so they know how to share Wink
