And this 'OTD' thing...we need to remove sales tax and DMV from the figures. Each state is different, they are not negotiable, and it distorts the comparison. OTD, IMHO, should equal Price of the bike + any freight/ prep/ tacked- on dealer fees.

Good luck wight he purchase, Tyson, hope to see you on the road soon!

That's true when comparing prices around the country. When actually working a deal with the dealer, you should negotiate an all-inclusive OTD price. That's the only way to keep those pesky little "extras" from popping up in the final contract.

Update: the dealer here has red-tagged the new CB1100 STD at $9400. I've been talking with them for about a week off and on, the bike's been sitting in that showroom since February. I told him I want to pay $9000 out the door (tax, license, everything). He came back at $10,000. Then he offered total out the door at $9800. Then he offered $9400 total. This is only a bit over my "comfort zone" initial offer of $9000 with tax and license. Should I pull the trigger at this price?

If I paid $9000 out the door I would be happy and comfortable...so what's another $400, is what I'm thinking? It seems like I'm getting a good deal at $9400 out the door. Dealer might even be selling it at a loss? Not sure.

What are your thoughts out there?! I could be a CB1100 owner by 10am tomorrow morning!

It's whatever you're comfortable with. I just spent $11,800 OTD for a deluxe earlier this month (and haven't regretted it yet but time will tell). You'll be getting a much better deal than me but I'm still ok with it as I got the bike I wanted at a reasonable price (only when I consider how long I intend to hold on to it).

$9400 OTD for a new 2014 Standard is a great price. Pull that trigger! Just watch for the hard sell for an extended warranty that is sure to come and, of course, is not being quoted in your OTD price. If you're interested in purchasing an extended warranty, know that you don't need to do it at the time of purchase and that you can find a legit four-year Honda Care warranty online for around $600 (last I checked). Check out this place, for example: http://www.blueridgepowersports.com/hpp.htm

It's unlikely that they'll sell the bike to you at a loss and, the truth is, dealers should make a profit from their sales. You want them to stay in business, do well, and be around in the future. It's good for everyone. Let's us know what you decide and, of course, if you buy it, post up pictures!

Sounds like a good deal at $9,400. Here in our state, our sole Honda dealer would have this bike at around $12,500 OTD back in early 2014 so your price is around $3,000 less. I feel trying to negotiate another $400 may be possible but $9,400 is already a very good price. If this dealer has friendly and helpful employees, I would be willing to pay the additional $400 as good dealers are hard to find.

Verne's Honda in Antigo Wisconsin has a 2013 CB1100 for $8300 out the door. I don't know if this helps you just throwing it out there. I was up there a week ago buying a Honda ATV. I just happened to see the CB in a back corner all lonely like.

Back this summer I was priced this bike for 8800 I think but it would be plus tax title ect.. Which, in my state would have brought it to about 9400 and I think that may be the best you can do. I think its a good price and I am the biggest tightwad on this forum. If you like the bike and can swing the extra 400 go for it. Thumbs Up

After a few miles on the bike that $400.00 will be only a distant memory on a very good price on a great motorcycle. Let's ride!!!

Shoot. At $9400 OTD, you got me beat by $1000. But really, if you pay the $400 extra, it won't mean anything to you within minutes after rolling away.

That warranty though... I had it FORCED on me. They worked with my bank to OVERBOOK my loan. I raised hell till I was written a reimbursement check. BE CAREFUL and just read over everything twice.
