Want to get a Corbin seat.
Last year I read the that a member of the forum
recomended a seat that he designed together with Corbin,
without fancy curves or stitching.
Advice is needed in order to get the right seat.

I have been using that seat for over a year now and it is outstanding. It looks as good today is the day I bought it. Very comfortable whether I'm sitting up close to the tank or farther back at high speeds so I am leaned more into the wind. All the best.

Is there any reason for the tuck/ roll besides aesthetics?

Chip Hello Chip, thank´s for the information, I am going to contact Corbin´s order dept. for a seat with your design. I find it very suitable for the bike.

Corbin claims that it is easier for them to conform to the contours of the foam by using smaller pieces of leather and multiple pleats or seams. They say that is is more likely that the single piece of leather (as used in the Chip Beck Spec CB1100 Seat) can come loose from the foam or wrinkle with time.
However, that is exactly how Corbin makes many cruiser style seats and seats made for Yamaha (and other Bike manufacturers)...using a large, single piece of leather which conforms to the complex curves of the seat pocket. I had a Yamaha accessory seat made by Corbin using the large single slab of leather for the driver's section, and it never wrinkled or came loose.

A Corbin may be more breathable with the seams, but this also allows more entry points for moisture in the rain. If I ordered the standard "tuck & roll" version, I might use some sort of leather or saddle treatment to "seal" the seams as much as possible.
