No...that has nothing to do with the paint job.
"Darksider" is the self-given name for a group of...uh, choosing words carefully...group of RIDERS...who don't much like paying money for motorcycle tires.
Their considered judgment is that it's really-really clever to put a CAR tire on a motorcycle - to save money.
I guess it goes without saying, I don't agree.

The bike is easy to handle but you must treat it with respect. Don't try to put it on the center stand or dolly it around with flip flops or boat shoes on. If it gets away from you there is nothing you can do but go down with it.
It is truly a wonderful riders bike that does everything you ask of it. Endless power no matter what gear you find yourself in. Smooth quiet acceleration that elicits stares from all who realize what it is. Just the dealers are having a hard time selling them and you can use that to your advantage making the deal.
My dealer has a brand new 2013 and 2014 in stock. The 13 price is $8990. That's a thousand off.

The dealers need to work on how to SELL those things. This holds true of other bikes, too.
I understand that buyers don't seem to like buying a "new" machine that has miles on it. I don't agree; just about every car sold has ten or fifteen miles on it when sold...at least...but it is what it is.
So. BUY one as a DEMONSTRATOR. SHARE it. I know dealers are competitors; but if between them they can get a whole group of riders interested through demo rides...that's a win/win.
They don't even necessarily need to take a new machine to set up as a demonstrator. They could look to buy/trade or accept a newish trade-in...as we see here, see everywhere, buyer's remorse is a constant thing. Take a used one with 3000 miles; and set it up as a demonstration ride.
They'll generate a LOT of interest that way; and with the low price, I'd expect they could clear inventory in weeks.
