Maine

Just returned from 2 weeks in in, Moosehead Lake region. Many motorcycles around, I had a mini van and my boys, canoes ect....
What a beautiful place to ride though, of course the Moose outnumber the locals 3 to 1. And I thought deer in Virginia were bad news.

Got the parabellum scout fairing in while I was gonw, just got the paint in today from colorrite all I am waiting for now is a small 'HONDA' decal that hopefully matches the tank decal colors then off to my body shop buddy for a little painting.

Maine is another beautiful state. Wife and I rode up there a few years ago.

Can't wait to see the parabellum painted and mounted.

Novice..I don't do seafood. One evening in Bar Harbor my wife and I went out to eat. I went to 7 restaurants before I found one that would serve me beef. The guy at the door says "I guess we could make you a hamburger, would that be alright?" Perfect says I, and we dined in the balcony over looking the bay watching the ships go in and out. Idyllic. If you like lobster, you won't have any trouble finding it there lol.

Living so close to Maine I've traveled there both by car and motorcycle many, many times. The first time was in 1957 on a BSA Golden Flash motorcycle on my way to Boston.
The coast of Maine is a lot like the coast of Nova Scotia, but still it's different. We have often been asked why would we come to Maine when our province has such a fantastic coastline. We just say it's similar - but also different.
I love seafood, having lived on the Atlantic Ocean all my life, but strangely enough I can take lobster or leave it.
I also like beef, but modern science is telling us that we should cut back on consumption for health reasons and now I don't even have beef once a week.
But I broke down and ate a wonderful beef tenderloin my daughter cooked for me on Father's Day

We're headed to Maine in August to visit friends in Portland. We aren't taking the bikes this time but hope to do a couple days riding rentals. Our friends have two Harley's and have offered us the use of one but I feel uncomfortable using a friend's bike.

Love the seafood in Maine. I grew up in Florida and many weekends were spent fishing, catching Blue Crab and dip netting shrimp. I still love any seafood, steamed, broiled, fried or raw.

A-ya love Maine. Used to be a Mainee-ack now just ACK. I did visit America this Tuesday. Went to my first Dunkin's and Wendy's in about 5 years and gas is sooooo cheap I couldn't believe it!
This is what we call a Nantucket $20. Nice place to visit, but.......

Moosehead Lake is kinda remote, I remember a motorcycle camping trip there in the 80's, planning my trip, I saw one road on the map going to Mooshead Lake, I figured I would take another road back for variety, thinking the map was not showing all the roads.....but, when I was done at Moosehead Lake, I had to take that same long road out that I took in....very remote for being on the East Coast of US. Also due to the cold winters, there was a lot of buckled pavement on their roads,

How long does it take you to get off the island, Ack? And how many of those $20s do you need?

It seemed like every drive way had one motorcycle, one snowmobile, one 4X4, and one old aluminum boat.
I think it is some sort of a mandated thing up there. i would love to live there if I did not have to go to work in the winter.
