As for putting a 17" tire on an 18" rim....even if that is possible, it is a big no-no!

Lol. How come many to that on their rear tire than?
edit: I jumped to quick into conclusions, many did use a 18" tire, but only with a differend width and/or 'wall size' (= the second number after the width size I think)

Riko you can have a look on the french forum. It seems to be possible to find this tyre in France right now.

If I read correctly they are saying the RoadSmart 3 tire will be imported into Europe around this month?
It has already been used in Japan since a year...
And you can use this tubeless tire on our spoke rims?

But I assume if this tire will be used on the spoke rims, the rims will be converted to fit tubless tires? but I do not find many information on the french board about such an conversion, in fact I have opened a topic concerning this conversion:

I put a set of RoadSmart IIs on my Concours 14 and they lasted about 10,000 miles. I put another set on it this past spring. I like them; they're good tires, handle great and last a long time. One thing I noticed about them is they make a whirring sound when leaned over in a turn, which is annoying at first, but when I realized it was just the tires I payed no attention to it. Beer

Seems that most here like these tyres quite a bit. My own personal experience was not that favourable. I had these tyres on my previous bike, the CB500F, these came stock on them. I found them a decent all-round pair of tyres, but not really great at anything. When pushed hard through corners I often had some loss of traction both front and rear. I also had little confidence in them in the wet, especially when cold. They had good range though, changed them over at around 15k kms, and they still had a few thousand kms left in them. I changed to Michelin PR4s at the time and found those far superior in all conditions (dry/wet, cold/warm).

Mind you the 500F is a very different bike. Much lighter, 17in wheels, 160/120 width. More sporty than the Cb11. Also, I find the current stock tyres on my CB11 (Dunlop D205s) even worse than the Roadsmarts, so they would still be an upgrade. But based on my experience I would not buy the Roadsmarts again and will look to the Bridgestone T30 or Michelin PR3 instead.
