Ya know what I love about this place....

I love the decorum.

I love the information I get.

I love the Seat Time reports.

I love that we have rallies (aka "gatherings").

I love the camaraderie.

I love that most of the people who know more about motorcycles and motorcycling do not condescend to those who may know a little less.

I love that most of the people do not make broad generalizations about riders of our bikes.

Thanks to all who make this a fun little corner of the internet.

Yes, this site and its members is just like the motorcycle it represents - classy.

I thought the broad generalization here was that most of us are old geezers Smile

I love that everyone here at the rally has been nothing but nice, helpful, and friendly. That when someone like me, with only 2 years of riding experience mostly on flat straight Midwest roads, felt a little uneasy on the dragon and slowed down a lot to feel more comfortable in the turns, I wasn't berated or made fun of. Instead, I was reassured to 'ride my own ride' at a pace that's comfortable to me. I got tips about riding form and how to handle the hairpins, and I never felt treated like an inferior rider despite having less years alive than some members have years in the saddle.

Stuff like this is nice to hear. It's a total hipster term, but things like this seem to be the hallmarks of "real" motorcyclists.

No need, we have an average rider age poll that proves everyone is old.

True enough, although we seldom, except in good humor, reference that most of us are on the north side of life's midpoint. (BRB, I have to chase a kid off my front lawn).

(OK, I'm back. Dang kids these days. )

The other generalizations which do pop up, come from VERY FEW folks who like to prove their supposed expertise by implying that the rest of us are either ignorant or stupid. This seems to be a common occurrence on many forums, but is virtually absent here.

Hey, I made a post once about "CB riders under 45" and got a decent response. There ARE some younger CB riders.
