Windshield

A number of us had this happen and it turned out the connectors were buzzing against the headlight bucket or bulb holder. Couldn't hear it until we installed a windshield or flyscreen. Drove us crazy till we figured it out!

Thanks, Popgun! I think I'll ride without a windshield, for now. When I put one on for the colder weather, I'll definitely remember your advice!

I bought this one. I love the look of it. Might be smaller than what you are looking for. It provides just enough wind protection to make highway speeds tolerable but you still get the experience of riding a naked bike.

If you are machanialy inclinded, you can go this route. It cost me about $500 and 8hrs. If anybody is interested, I can share what it took to do.

I've settled in a a National Cycle Plexistar 2 for cool weather and Street Shield EX in warmer weather. Same hardware, minimal adjustments one to another. I get a fair amount of air with the Street Shield EX and very little with the PS2.

I didn't take to this look at first but it is really starting to grow on me. Your larger back rest does a nice job of counterbalancing the bulk of the fairing. There are a lot of these fairings listed on ebay, some are even new old stock.
If you have the time and inclination to write it up for the how-to section, I'd enjoy seeing the install process.

Just ordered a National Cycle, Street Shield(u-clamp mount),the difference between the u-clamp mount and the regular street shield,as far as i can determine is, current stock of the regular street shield seems to be acrylic and the u-clamp is the newer model in stock made from polycarbonate.Price was right also,113.95 with free shipping.Weborder late Sunday evening, tracking says delivered by end of day wednesday. Not bad.Acrylic on most models is about 4.5 mm thick and polycarbonate on this one is 3 mm thickness.

It does look good Riko...brings back memories of the Shoei mini fairings available several decades ago.

Yes, very retro - the Shoei FM2 that I had on my CB750 Nighthawk. It was just 5-6 years ago that I found it on eBay as NOS for about $150 (fiberglass too)
