Not pretty but, in my opinion, beat a Grom or a small scooter for in-town riding.

Them be fightin' words around me! Nothing, absolutely nothing beats a Grom around town. Sure, it can't overtake a Smart Car and is absolutely incapable of even short sections of freeway, but it's perfect for darting after stray cats on residential streets, jumping off curbs, and it's small size is unintimidating to most walking/jogging path users.

Grom would not be much use where I live.. No stray cats as they are Coyote bait, no sidewalks therefore no curbs, we don't need walking and joggin paths, no one walks in public, that's a city thing, although I have seen a few neighbors strolling down the street, but they step off to the side when the rare vehicle comes by, and I've only seen 1 smart car in my life. Pick-ups however are a dime a dozen...and huge!

What are you riding now UN? I'm afraid I've lost track.

They are not easy on the eyes - to be kind. But the concepts, Honda and new riders, needed them.

Oy, I'm with many other detractors here - that ain't a pretty bike, to be kind.
I think the Rebel's always been a great idea, but its previous, classic, shrunk-down metric cruiser look was far more attractive than this new restyling,
At least the new power should be a much appreciated change.

My daughter will like it because she's a tiny thing. What's a five footer to do? And the 300 would have all the power she would need, without a ton to heft around. Despite what designers must think, not all Mericans are 6'3', 235. (We just wish we were)

I was in a restaurant the other day and a "not too small" couple came in and asked who was riding the V-Strom. I confessed , and they said they were considering trading up to a V-Strom. They were 2-up on a Rebel 250 and said it struggled a little on the interstate !! I was impressed. The looks are o.k. ...it's all in the eye of the beholder. They were out having fun on their Rebel.

To me that 500 Rebel looks like a design that makes a lot of sense, a great parallel twin with very respectable power in a bike that'll probably last a hundred years and be fun to ride. I was real tempted to buy a CB500F a couple days ago, the 2016 is a really nice bike.

I sold a lot of those Rebels when they first arrived, 250 and 450, a very popular bike and archaic design, but reliable and easy to ride.

Make the seat height adjustable and they'd be unstoppable. Strong looks and modern tech. Thumbs up!
