Enjoyed many good years on this site and learned much from good people. But the time has come for me to let the beloved CB go. In doing so , I have listed many accessories in the Classifieds/For Sale forum. Items such as a Staintune exhaust, Samurider hard case panniers, as well as other items. So ride safely and ride long.

I'm moving to no ride for now. I had a lot riding I wanted to do with the CB, but it just didn't happen for me. It ended up being more bike then I needed for what I was using it for. I surely won't miss all the crazy auto drivers out there. Being 61 and if I do, it would be a small commuter bike.

Happy trails Tomas. Small commuters are fun. I've had many. CB500's are great, for example with the new non vibrating parallel twin motors. One up on the front sprocket for the highway and off you go. A dream on a twisty backroad.

I agree! After a 25 year hiatus from motorcycling, I bought a CB500XA three years ago. It's a great motorcycle. Light, nimble, and surprisingly strong for a 500cc motorcycle. I have enjoyed over 33,000 happy kilometers (20,500 miles) on it despite only having a six month riding season.

However ever since I saw pictures of the 2014 CB1100 Deluxe, I have wanted one. But they were never sold here in Canada and would have been too expensive to import. Now that the CB1100 EX is going to be sold here, I will sell my CB500XA this spring.

500cc will be about the biggest I'll go, with around a 400 pound weight limit. The CB500 would be nice indeed.

There are now 4 models in the CB500 range: sport, naked, adventure, and cruiser. I originally wanted the tri-colour sport bike, but my 6'2", 220 pound, 68 year body wasn't comfortable. Last time I rode a café racer I was 22 and weighed 163 pounds. I should have known better.

Tried the CB500F (naked), it was alright. But the taller CB500XA was a perfect fit for my tall frame, and it had a windshield. Never been a cruiser fan, but sure see a lot of them while riding the back roads.

Thanks for the info, I do like the XA model the best. I'm 6' even and 195lbs so we'll see how that works for me.
