You guys don't check your valves?
I check mine every 24k (twice as many miles than what manual says) and every time at least 4 valves are out of spec.
Question to those with high mileage: don't your transmission whine on an aggressive acceleration? My 1st gear does noticeably, and 2nd is quieter, but still does. I'm wondering, should I order bearings and learn how to rebuild it or it's still fine for another 20-40k?
Current mileage is 63k miles.
Hey Jurlie - Do you have no side-effects with the out-of-spec valve clearances?
Like pops on hard acceleration, harder cold starting, rough idling, and symptoms like that and maybe others?
None of these, as they were not more than 0.02mm out of bounds.

0.02 mm out of specs

Curious: Did you perform the check+adjustment yourself, or have a trusted service garage perform the procedure? If the latter, how much was the job?

I'm 500 miles shy of 120,000. I've never checked the valves. Regular oil changes with Honda oil and filters. She still runs like a top....

Impressive mileage! And good news on the maintenance.
On the valve checks, I did the first myself at something like 9,500 miles and all were right at spec. I don't plan to do another check. I'm a low mileage guy compared to some here with just over 30k miles.
Only problem I ever had was at very high altitudes. Bike didn't easily start on Pike's Peak. But it did eventually and never had another problem with that.

For example, leaving out the last sentence of your previous post would have made it more acceptable. I agree, thank you cormanus

Wait, what? Leave out facts?
Big difference than telling people ‘how to live and spend those time’.
Acceptable in this place is subject to odd interpretation.
Guy comes in to a motorcycle forum and starts talking pollution- I respond with appropriate videos - not politics fed news agenda- and somehow Im the bad guy.
No need to tell me to leave… I’ve had enough.

I did it on my own.
My friend recently did the valves on his triumph tiger in the shop, and he paid $1k for it, it that helps.

Would be curious to see how far the valve clearances from specs...
Do you notice any whining from transmission on acceleration on lower gears?
