Would Rudi (or any animal) where some sort of "ear muffs" to dampen the issue of hearing loss due to wind noise? Or does folding back the ears work well enough?

Hey GoldOxide, not sure if they make ear protection for dogs. I'll have to look into that. Most all of the time, I place a stretch knit neck warmer around Rudi's ears to prevent them from flopping in the wind. Hopefully that dampens the wind noise some too. I noticed that when he wears that, he shows more tolerance of riding at higher speeds.

What make of sidecar is that? Looks like a copy of a Steib sidecar.

Thanks for the suggestion. The Mutt Muffs look like they would be effective. May have to put a pair on the gear list!

This thread is fantastic. I’ve been riding for 4 years now. I own a ‘78 CB750 and a 2014 CB1100 Deluxe. But, ever since I’ve been riding, I’m home less and feel bad for my super adventurous cattle dog. I’m selling my 750 and most likely getting a sidecar and CB1100 standard. Seems great! I’m glad I looked on here.

Hello all,

Just checking in to update this thread. This past weekend's weather was finally decent enough to take Rudi and our smaller dog, Lana out for a good ride. Took the back roads to a festival in the Lake Erie town of Port Clinton, OH.

Hello CB Riders,

Last month, a number of you met my CB1100 Sidecar-riding dog, Rudi. Well, Hank is the latest canine addition to our family. He's almost 11-months old, is the same mix as Rudi, and began his sidecar training yesterday.

I suggested to my wife that if Hank takes to this, she might also have to get a sidecar rig next year. Hmm, maybe it's time to plan for another CB1100 rig!
