I'd be seriously interested in trading my '14 DLX cast wheels for your EX wire wheels, but only if it's a proven DIY swap. I'm not interested in being a guinea pig and discovering they won't work or will require motorcycle surgery or modifications.

I can't remember whether it's the EX or the RS, but one's rear hub is a completely different shape to the 13 and before.

To go from spoke to alloys is NOT a direct swap in that all the parts are not common..
The brake rotors are not interchangeable. Neither are the abs rings, nor the wheel spacers, and the rear brake caliper brackets are also different.

Jim, In one of the design engineer discussions that Honda posted he said it was done as it would flex more and give a better ride.

If you had two bikes side by side, it is just a matter of figuring out how much to swap. The bikes have identical frames. If you swapped swing arms and everything attached it would likely be a direct swap. That would be a lot of work though.

i dont understand....you buy a new bike but not direct the RS ? or, why you dont ask the honda dealer as first befor you make the first ride ?
better now costs and troubels ?

If you care to share...I was wondering why you would buy a 2017 and want to exchange the wires wheels when you could get a 2014 with the mags for a lower price? I know price isn't the only thing and that the 2017 is the new shiny penny but wanted to get your thoughts on how you bypassed the 2014 that has the wheels you seek. Thanks!

My reason for going to the mag wheels would be to get away from tubed tires .
