'17 rearsets vs '14 rearsets
#1
Totally trivial but I know that a lot of us dissect every detail on these bikes so...
Anyone know why they "solidified" the rearsets on the 2017?
I recall that when they originally designed the the 2011-2014s, they purposefully put holes or cutouts in the rearsets.
-would like to hear other members opinion on this.
Also somebody on here mentioned that they didn't particularly like the new aluminum chain guard... I agree and it does take away a little from the shiny bits of the exhaust area.

Do not know why they changed the rear sets, but for me I always liked the cut out versions. Always looked racier reflecting a striving for weight reduction will maintaing strength. Reminded me of rear sets on my 1983 V45 Interceptor, in fact, appears to be the same part! My guess is new part is cheaper and/or just looking for a change.

Agreed, I like the cut rear set better as well as the black plastic chain guard - as somebody else pointed out the chrome one competes with the angles of the exhaust.
