If I have the OEM Honda rack on the rear of my 2014 CB1100, is it possible to bolt on a Shad or Givi box? I understand it may take some modification drilling holes and such, but mainly just want to know if it's fairly easy to do? I was set to buy a Shad setup and they discontinued the CB1100 mounting hardware bracket. They say they will eventually offer it again, so I can wait if I have too. Thanks

Some years ago, I bought a Givi top box with a universal mounting plate which can attach to pretty much anything. It has some neat butterfly clamps that will hook under bits of the rack. You'd protect the rack with some sort of rubber washer. My top box is a monolock and the mounting plate is the Z113C. I concur with Cormanus as I had the same universal base plate with my Givi Monolock
37 Litre Top Box.
In fact, two of the bolt holes in my 2014 OEM Honda rack lined up perfectly with the universal base plate so I was able to use nylock hex nuts under those positions and only needed to use two of the butterfly clamps in other locations. It is very secure and looks like it was purposely designed for use on the Honda Rack.

I'm uncertain that my answer will be of any value but I purchased a black rack from Samurider and then a piece of luggage from eBay.

I have the Honda rack and a Givi box on it. A lot of us have Honda racks with Givis and Shads on them.

I know a fella on this forum who bolted an oversized IGLOO lunch box on his OEM rack. He liked it so much, he did the same thing to his CB500X. Aint that weird ? He's from Idaho though. 20 bucks at Wall-mart, I understand. It will hold a case of beer if you leave the lid down (he said).
