Warranty claim on speedo cover
#1
Noticed over the weekend the speedo cover on my 14 standard was loose while I was installing new risers.
It seems the fastener had backed completely out and is mia.
The cover had vibrated around and is scuffed up
Passed by my dealers today and he ordered a new cover, Honda will cover the $ 29.00 cover cost but I have to ride down for them to install it to file a warranty claim.

While there he showed me this CBR, according to him it weighs 394 lbs and has 180 hp

Good night that not much weight and a whole lot of power 156 lbs less and 97 hp more than a CB 1100 lol

Well, yeah, except its curb weight is 450 lbs, and its rwhp is "only" 150.

Yea but you are talking actual facts vs salesman facts

My brother and I were at a Triumph dealer one time when he tried telling us the pre 2016 green/ gold Thruxton had 100 hp (I looked at my brother, shook my head and mouthed nope 60).

Many CB 1100 owners were told their CB's had rear only ABS

Salesman facts are often quite different from actual facts

At least the salesman quoted Mscb1100 the correct claimed numbers from Honda. As a salesman, there's really nothing wrong with that. I just never go by those numbers. I wait for the measured curb weight and rwhp measured on the dyno.

Most salespeople don't care enough to learn those figures. They figure that as long as they stick to the manufacturer's claimed specs they'll be okay,.

Also, not sure if this is correct but he said the wheels were $ 5000, I did see Marchesi stamped on them.
It is serial # 16 of 500

Just out of interest, where does Honda publish information on power? Claimed weight is easy to find in the spec sheet, but not claimed power.

I m not sure, my salesman has about 60000 miles between his Hayabusa and his CBR. He has had several of these type bikes over the past 10 years. He has been with Honda for a while so I assume he get some of his numbers from dealer intro meetings he goes to. He seems to be fairly knowledgeable and straightforward
I think VLJ is right on the weight though, I same some Honda info they posted today that the CBR is about 220 kilos, which is close to 454 lbs

That's on a document called an MCO in the USA. One can look a given USA VIN up in the Fed database and that info should appear. I think you provided info that the bikes all have ~89 brake horsepower (crankshaft).
