I can't determine what your screen name means.
"TooManyToys"? It doesn't seem to make any sense. Is it even English or gibberish?

Not really sure about that price for the 2013 model, unless they are starting to appreciate in value .
I purchased a pre owned 2013 ABS with 3K miles for 5039.77$ OTD incl. tax/title/reg. from a dealer in Bradenton, FL on April, 2016.
Like other members have mentioned, you might be able to get a newer 2014 for 6K$.
In any case, you will get a great bike

The short answer is no, not a good deal. I might have sold mine when I had my son if I thought I could get $6k for it. Glad I didn't do that!

Not a good deal in my view. My wife purchaseda 2013 last January in Tampa for $4500. 12K miles with a recent valve check. Bike was like new having been garage kept. I've seen other '13s for well under $5k.

My wife came up with it. At one point I had a boat, a jetski, 4 bikes and 2 cars. For some reason she thought that was too much?

I did contact a dealer in northern Florida that has a new black 14 for around $5600, but $800 in freight and setup + $289 doc fee, adds up quick. I do like the red better than the black

Offer that dealer $6200, plus sales tax and plus the cost of a tag and title in your state and there is a good chance you will get it. Tell the dealer your offer includes their absolutely BS $289 doc fee. On one level I hope you don't get it and I hope nobody else buys anything from that dealer either. $289 doc fee????? Wow. Just for reference, for my 2017 EX I paid the actual $389 freight charge, state sales tax, no "set-up," and reluctantly paid a $100 doc fee. I also paid $1400 under msrp.

Unfortunately doc fees are a way of life in Florida. In Mass I used to pay about MSRP for bikes+tax+tags, no setup fee, doc fee etc. The doc fees on cars are typically around $800!!

$289 doc fee = $289 markup
The freight charge is the same for all U.S. dealers. The difference between $389 and $800 is simply further markup.
I'm all for dealers making a profit. They have a lot of capital tied up in their business and their survival requires it. But gouging customers is not the answer.
That leftover 2014 CB1100 will soon become a five year old model. A liability, not an asset. He should be very motivated to find a customer for it. Make him a reasonable "take it or leave it" OTD cash deal. He knows the bike will continue to decrease in value.

$6000 is well under what the dealer paid on this last batch of leftover 2014s. So whatever fees they charge, whatever they call it, have to make up the margin. The only price that matters is the out the door price to you. It's a new bike with warranty, a few years old, for about what you could buy a brand new CBR500R for. In 5 more years, the 500 would be outdated, but the CB1100 is timeless.
