Good looking bike. That's the second mention of a Whitehouse kitted out bike in recent weeks, https://cb1100forum.net/forum/showthread...#pid273669

I agree with pdedse.
This muffler made from a brawn tin ruins the look of this beautiful bike.

Too bad that the paint bubble kind of ruins the tank. Otherwise, it might be interesting to buy this one, swap the Whitehouse kit over to a different bike, then still have a complete bike to resell. Will be interesting to see if that flaw lowers the auction price.

I'm sure it will affect the price.  Also, despite including the original tank, original side covers, original seat (three seats total?), the fact that it doesn't include the original exhaust will affect the price.  As others have mentioned, the aftermarket exhaust works against the overall look.

Lol, the owner has sold a lot of stuff on BaT.

I am mildly interested in this bike, but as mentioned above, the yoshi exhaust and the paint bubble have me holding back.

I'm very confused about that paint bubble.

It seems like an easy fix. I'm really surprised the seller didn't get it fixed before listing the bike on BAT.

On the other hand, whoever buys the bike should be able to fix it pretty easily as well. Just a quick trip to the local body shop (this is assuming there's not rust, rust and more rust under there).

How does a body shop fix something like this? Please educate, I'm illiterate on this stuff, I just like that bike.

There are a couple of exhausts on eBay so maybe I could get rid of the Yoshi after all.

My advice would be: if you do not already know of one, research (Yelp, Google, etc.) a highly regarded paint and body shop that works on motorcycle gas tanks, and/or call a couple of local motorcycle dealers and ask who they recommend.

Once you have one or two reputable shops, I'd just show them the picture and see what they think, and if they can give a rough estimate of the repair cost.

My biggest worry is there is something under the paint like rust. But even if it's just a small bit of surface rust, it may not be that big of a deal to fix (and it may not be even that big of a problem: just some spilled gas that never got cleaned up).

A good shop should be able to give you a minimum and maximum cost depending on how much repair work is needed.

I wouldn't call myself an expert (hence my recommendation to actually ask an expert) on these kinds of repairs, but--to the best of my understanding-- typically it's just sanding the bad area, prepping the exposed metal for paint, matching the paint color with fresh paint, then painting and blending it into the rest of the tank so you can't see that there was ever a problem.
