This report of a trail rider being 'clotheslined' is horrible. Careful out there you off-roaders.

Holy Moly that is scary!
When I was a kid, I was riding my bike through the parking lot at Knott's Berry Farm, as I often did as it was across the street from my neighborhood. Cranking pretty fast, as I was late for dinner. They were cordoning off a part of the lot for a show, and had thin yellow cord stretched across part of the lot. Too thin to see easily in the dark, and I got clothes-lined by it. Threw me off of my bike, which hit a tree and bent the frame, and scraped up my neck pretty badly and thumped my head on the ground.
They took my to first aid to clean me up, and called my parents. They were upset and demanded that Knott's replace my damaged $75 bicycle. They replaced my bike, and started putting bright ribbons on the cord they used in the parking lot.
It was the 70s, and Knott's is a fairly large, very well known amusement park. Can you imagine the amount of litigation something like that would create these days?
You know what? I actually would like a pickle.
