As I wrote, so do I since I change the oil of the CB without knowing that Honda changed the length of the interval for the latest model.
The Honda dealer used 10W40 halfsynthetic for the first oil change at the 1.000km inspection I booked and argumented in his answer to my question why he did so. He did not stick to Honda's first choice 10W30. I followed his choice and never used 10W30 again....

Oifilter at 24.000km instead of 12.000km?
Oh what news! Can save some money in the future.
It's getting better all the time.
No, I won't.
Always change all parts for the oilchange together.
So much money has to be.

Simply put, change oil at whatever interval feels right to you. Use oil thats suitable for your climate dyno or synthetic.
Honda motors, CB and otherwise have been almost bullet proof for the better part of 40 years. If it’s got oil in it, it’s just going to keep running prob longer than it’s owner

Settled on generic Honda (GN4?) 10W40 once a year, or when "it feels right". Used Motul semi-synthetic a few times - has a nicer smell (yeah, I sniff da stuff) but after a few thou it seems to "feel" the same. Maybe the Motul has better clutch behaviour, still not sure. Same oil sump dump, summer traffic 42C, winter cruises -25C. Filter: Honda only, and changed sometimes once a year, other times once in two years. The CB has a nicely engineered engine that is not too tight like its higher performance siblings. Not burning any oil. Life is good on the CB.
