New Helmet Help

I need a new helmet.

I have a collection (been riding for 20+).. The last new helmet I got was a adv helmet and while it's great for off road.. it looks a tad moronic on the cb1000..

I happened to look at the others and minus the the adv helmet, the remaining ones are 7 years older.. My Suomy that I wearing now wasn't used much if at all, so I'm good for a bit, but it's time to retire my shoei rf1000 and Arai astral (arai for guys with a shoei head)..

When I last bought the main or top two brands were Shoei and Aria. The Suomy was more a European helmet (got it in the U.K.) and not really sold in the US

However, as I've started looking at new helmets, it now seems like there's a ton to choose from that have good reviews (it even looks like Bell is back in the motorcycle helmet game). However, I always prefer to get people's opinions.

So if you all were looking at new helmets or can steer me towards something, I would appreciate your recommendations.

My current lid is a Schuberth S2, it has a flip down internal sun visor and is a light on the head lid. I got it as a replacement for my ageing Shoei GT-Air which had got a bit baggy round the edges after a fair few years service (Got it when they 1st came out in Blighty) . If I hadnt had the GT-Air I would have said the Schubert was a reasonable lid however it feels a bit tupperware ish compared to the Shoei though it is lighter on the noggin and has a better 1st detent position when cracking the visor open for a demist, other than those two items the Shoei GT-Air is a far better quality lid than Schuberth. I'm hanging on to the Schuberth for now but I wont be buying any bits for it ie if the visor gets too scratched , i'll put that cash into another Shoei. Hopefully shoei will have updated the GT-Air to a version 2 by then and fixed the gaping visor demist position, but it must still be selling well giving he number of years its been out with only paint updates.

What works for me may not won't work for you since each one of us has a different shaped head. I order online with a reputable company that doesn't charge restocking fees. I wear it for an hour while watching TV/video games/etc.., and if it causes pain, back it goes. So far, Shoei works best for me. I had to return a Nolan, Bell and an HJC as they give me pain in my forehead. The Shoei causes pain in the cheeks, but Shoei will exchange cheek pads for free which saves me about $30-40 for new pads.

I love my Shoei J-Cruise if you want a 3/4 with a shield. Also has working vent and a drop down sun shield.

Yes we do offer a cheek pad exchange program which goes as followed:
Cheek Pad Exchange;
Cheek pads can be exchanged only if the helmet is brand new. If you have done anything more than try it on in the house you will need to purchase them as we cannot put used pads back into our inventory for health reasons. Please send them to the address below with a note containing the size needed as well as your name, return physical address and daytime phone number.
