Nova Scotia - August 2021

Looking for recommendations of not-to-miss motorcycling routes / locations in Nova Scotia. Current plan is to fly to Halifax, hire a bike locally, and spend 5-6 days touring the coastline with overnights in B&B’s or nice hotels.

If you’ve been, where would you go again? What would you not bother with? Thanks in advance.

LR, you hit the target by choosing Nova Scotia, plenty to see and enjoy, beautiful everywhere. Cannot miss the Cabot Trial, Lunenburg, Peggy's Cove +++ many, many more.... Been there few times by car and my CB..... and the people are very friendly.

LR, I would rethink your plans for 2021.
Anyone flying into Canada from a foreign country is required by law to quarantine for 14 days and stay put before being allowed out into the community.
Unless the pandemic is over by next summer and the world is safe again, I doubt that things will have changed much.
This is what you're facing if you decide to come here, and since you would have to isolate in a hotel/motel for two weeks and feed yourself, it sounds like a waste of time and money.
2022 may look much better.

Thanks Rocky. Of course, you're correct. I am trying to line up some trips for next year with the assumption and expectation that the COVID restrictions will be behind us. If not, they're easy to reschedule for a later date.

Yes indeed it is and has the highest and lowest tides in the world. This is caused by a tunnel effect as the tide comes in and out. Picture water sloshing back and forth in a bathtub.
I've walked on the ocean floor many times at low tide, but 12 hours later that same spot is covered in 50 feet of salt water.
More than once people have wandered out too far from shore and were cut off as the tide rushed in. The lucky ones were rescued by local fishing boats.
The bay itself really isn't anything special, but the phenomenon of the tides is.

Yes it is. It's that funnel effect I mentioned.
The ocean rushes into the bay, which is a dead end, and with high cliffs on all sides, it has no place to go but up. When the tide goes out, it really goes way, way out, and it's hard to believe that it was so high only a few hours earlier.
If you Google "Bay of Fundy Tides" you will probably find time-lapse videos and pictures of the tide rising and falling.
