I am flying out to Georgia on Saturday morning to buy my CB1100 and ride it back to Texas if all goes as planned. 900 miles. I have a 1981 CB750K that I have ridden 700 miles round trip over a weekend a few times(last trip was a couple weekends ago), but still anxious about riding across four states. An adventure for me for sure, but nothing compared to this guy.

Paul, I did a similar trip when I bought the ST1300.

IMHO your biggest problem may be your butt. Seriously. In my case 5 hours in and I had to get off the bike. But I had an AirHawk with me and installed it. Next day did 600 miles with no problem. Then a few days visiting friends and 500 more miles home. Butt was fine

Not saying get an AirHawk, but maybe be prepared to get something to pad the seat. I'm saying this as by far the biggest complaint on our bikes is the seat. As always, YMMV.

And maybe consider getting a CrampBuster or Go Cruise to help with your wrist.

If your trip is like mine was you will have a blast. Stay hydrated.

Paulstaf, yea have fun and stay safe. Suggest 2 or 3 days going home. Enjoy the trip don't make it an endurance contest. Let us know how it goes.

Going to make it a three day trip with about 300 miles each day.

Taking it nice and easy...during the daytime. Should be fun!

300 is a good day in the saddle, especially if you are not accustomed to it.

Thats the way to go Paulstaf. Believe me, I did not intend to do a 600 mile day, on the hottest day of Summer in Georgia. And the 500 mile final leg home I rode in 2 parts because I wanted to check out a couple of places.

Well day two is behind me...the longest of the three days. I pulled out of Gainesville Georgia yesterday around 3pm EST, and pulled into Tuscaloosa Alabama 250 miles later around 6pm CST (4 hours). Today's ride was 340 miles, to Ruston Louisiana...the town where that tornado killed a woman and her son 3 days ago....sad. I took some pictures of the damage. Crazy....
Here is a pic of the Motel 6 that was damaged...no one was killed at the motel, however the second picture is of the house next door to the hotel where the woman and her son were killed.



I love the bike....plenty of power....purrs along at 80MPH around 3900 RPM. I have the Yoshimura exhaust and it sounds awesome. Bike will have about 4600 miles on it when I get it home to Dallas. I am getting about 46ish MPG running it at almost a constant 80MPH for hours. Tomorrow is my last leg and only about 275 miles. Everyone is right....about the time you need to stop for gas, your butt is ready for a walk about too! I am hitting about 125~130 miles before it starts blinking and giving me the countdown...not sure how accurate that count is, but the lowest I have got it down to is 24 miles. I have the base model 2014 CB1100. So far the most I have put in the tank at a fill up is 3.050 gallons.
