Eye-opening new perspective on my daily commute
#11
I used to wear a black leather jacket...black helmet...

Although my current riding style is not 'cool'- I hope I might be more visible to cars.

Nerd! BananaBanana

On my late-night stroll through town last night, I came upon a group of four ninjas in a parking lot outside of a trendy restaurant, in all black leather and black helmets. Suiting up to go take on the night on their black sport bikes.

Wished them safe riding and heard them braaap their way through town for the next ten minutes.

Take visibility completely out of the conversation and I still wouldn't ever wear black gear.....THE HEAT. White or hi viz gear keeps you orders.of magnitude cooler. I cannot understand what the obsession with black gear is in the motorcycling community. To be honest I don't even think I can blame the riders I see wearing all black because all the gear vendors push black gear ahead of everything else. The all black option is always the cheapest one, whether it's helmets, jackets, or anything.

The first time I put on a white jacket and felt the temperature difference in June, I was done with black gear for life.

Perhaps I've gravitated to earth toned jackets lately because they hide dirt so much better than white or hi-viz.

Man am I getting lazy.

This, ... is understandable.

Laziness is part of the human paradox isn’t it? Some people work really hard to design and build things so they then don’t have to work hard and can be lazy. The lift, the wagon, levers, electricity. The list is endless.
