They deserve more than the horn, but that would be illegal. The Russian riders like to knock off mirrors.

sorry, I did not see that much wrong....could be you were going faster than the average pace of traffic around you and the person pulling out misjudged your speed and distance....looked like a "busy" section of street with much potential for problems....and if you had that much time to lay on the horn, it was not that close. he forced his way in, but if you were going slower, less of a big deal.
of course that's all based on a video, I was not there, who knows I may have been angrier if I was the one riding in the video.
And you were in the right lane going faster than the people in the left who were barely moving.

tHE PERSON TURNING RIGHT IS REQUIRED TO STOP BY LAW BEFORE TURNING RIGHT, and must yield to oncoming traffic. HE DOESN'T HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY NO MATTER HOW FAST OR SLOW THE MOTORCYCLE WAS COMING. tHE jEPP CLEARLY RAN THE RED LIGHT.

and the reason he was moving faster than the traffic to his left was the truck was stuck at the red light before it turned green, and was just beginning to accelerate from the light after it turned green, while he was approaching the light at speed ( but not necessarily speeding) as it turned green.

sorry, wasn't yelling. Accidentally hit caps lock instead of shift and I'm not retyping lol

i also know that at that intersection there is a no turn on red sign posted.
also note that my light turned green as the car in front of the jeep was still making his turn.
the jeep was at least a car length from the stop line when he got the red.
he had no intention of stopping.

ride like your invisible and they are all out to get you.
expect them to do the stupid thing and be prepared to adjust.
it had nothing to do with my speed at the time it was my unwillingness to get back up to speed knowing what might happen.
that is why it wasn't closer and i had time for the horn.
i try to always ride like they are not going to stop, until i see the tires stop rolling. i also watch the direction the tires are pointed.

when i learned to ride i took the MSF class and learned SIPDE.
and that is how i ride 100% of the time

I love the "ride like you're not visible" thought. I'm not as fond of the "ride like they're out to get you" thiught, but I do understand it. I just try not to have those negative thoughts in my head because it could affect how I react to someone who does something stupid in front of me.

That guy was never going to stop, by the way. Glad you had time and space to avoid him.

Don't disagree with DJS. I always said that "no cars can see you, and the ones that do are trying to hit you!" This philosophy has worked very well for me while riding motorcycles.

You might have the right of way, but you never have the right of weight...
