Aren't Avon Roadriders bias-ply tires? I thought the CB1100 came from the factory with Bridgestone or Dunlop radials, doesn't seem like a good idea to me to put bias-ply tires on a CB1100.

FWIW, I have nothing against bias-ply tires (I run Bridgestone BT45s on my Hawk GT), but when a bike is designed for radials I should think that would be the best way to go...(albeit at a higher cost than the Roadriders).

My .02 and all of that...

I got the bike 3/18/13. I have approx 5600 miles. Going to
NM next week, should break 7K before I get home...

Be glad your bike came with Bridgestones. My rear Dunlop
was toast at 4K (put a 170/50/R18 BT45 on) and my frt
will be histroy in about a thousand miles (at 5600 now).
Make sure the tires you get are radials. Bias ply tires will
spoil the handling. Bias ply stength in sidewall. Radial tire
has strength in riding surface and sidewall is suspension.
Suspension on CB1100 designed for radials and they are
much more expensive regreatably (my rear over $200 in-
stalled on the bike). Stock sizes only come from Honda.

CBXX, I assume you meant 150/70R-18 BT54? BT45 is a bias-ply tire.

I'm stuck at 1650 or so since June 15. I expect to get my bike back from the dealership about mid-way into August.
I am really hankering for a ride, I tell you what. I almost want to go and pony up the hundred bucks and some change to rent a Harley or something, just so I can ride for a day.. but I guess I will be patient.

Parts availability is limited since it's such a new model, is what I've been told. When I last talked to the shop, it was a muffler and a mirror that should come by the end of this upcoming week. There might have been some other things.
I'm out of town from Aug. 3 to 15, so I guess I get the bike some time after that.

The muffler wouldn't have happened if the tow truck guy hadn't dropped it on the right side when he came to pick it up Undecided

Since it was all cosmetic damage I kind of wondered if I could maybe ride it while waiting for the parts to arrive, but my hunch is that since it's an insurance thing they probably want the shop to keep the bike until it's done.
