I was able to sneak out for a three hour ride this morning down to Fredericksburg, VA via historic Route 1. So many historical markers to stop and read. It's the first time I've ridden that stretch of road where there wasn't a ton of traffic. That made it very pleasant to putt-putt along and stop when I pleased.
Here is a church from the early 1800s that served as Union Army Headquarters and hospital During the Civil War. It's in Falmouth, across the river from Fredericksburg.

The weather was perfect for a ride. High 50s to start and brilliant blue sky.
