CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge
EmptySea started this challenge. The rules he set follow.
Bob750 started the list of challenges.
The Rules
The Challenge:
A user will pick a location, landmark, geographical feature, etc. to serve as the backdrop for your photo. Users will then post photos meeting the requirement in this thread for our ogling pleasure. The first user to submit a qualifying photo chooses the backdrop for the following month's challenge.
The goal:
To encourage users to get out and ride and to document those rides with photos and, most of all, to have a little fun with the whole process.
The Rules:
- The CB1100 must be the featured bike in the photo. Caption the photo with the date and the location.
- Feel free to alter your photo to make it look better, but don't cut and paste into another photo just to qualify.
- The photos should be new photos, not something you had on file and especially not something you posted elsewhere in this forum.
- You may post multiple qualifying pictures in a month, but the background has to be different (e.g. you can post two pictures of your bike in front of a train station, but they have to show two different stations).
- Not really a rule, but don't stop trying to get a picture for a particular month just because someone beat you to the first post for that month. We want to see lots of pictures.
- The same user cannot pick the photo subject on consecutive months. If the first photo comes from the same user that posted the first photo in the prior month, the second user posting a photo will get to pick the next background subject.
Truly, 6 rules are probably 5 too many. Just go with the spirit of this challenge and get out and ride your motorcycle!
Note: references to post numbers prior to 2025 are to posts on the "old" forum, http://cb1100forum.com

*** 2026 ***
January (
post #5262) Gone in 60 — your bike with a sign containing the number 26. It can be a longer number as long as “26” is in the number. For example it can be an address, a license plate or anything else with a 26. If you’re garage-bound for the winter, how about putting something on the seat of your bike with a 26 on it that is NOT a calendar.
February (
your bike parked somewhere in your city or town.
March (post#5302) pdedse — your bike with something related to St. Patty's Day? Simply, I'd say anything with green being prominent in the photo, but other ideas: your bike in front of an Irish pub, you dressed up as a Leprechaun in front of your bike, or not as exciting: your bike with a Leprechaun in the background. Other valid entries might include your bike with shamrocks real or otherwise, with the word "LUCKY" in the photo, or maybe you buy a box of "Lucky Charms" and strategically place the box next to your bike to someplace you've ridden. Any signs with a rainbow and a pot of gold? Since we had a day with "26" I guess we'd have to accept the number "17" as good...but would prefer other Patrick ideas and symbols. How about a church called St. Patrick's...all denominations accepted. Do you have a themed hat / t-shirt? Wear it for double bonus points in front of that other Patty symbol.
April (post #5320) Gone in 60 — your bike with a patch of flowers or a garden, something having to do with Easter, or something diamond-shaped.
