200 miles, two-up

Took my daughter out for the day for a really good mix of coastal canyons, surface streets, and freeway. This bike is excellent, motor like a turbine, very comfy. A Corbin seat with backrest and a better pair of rear shocks will be all it needs make it near-perfect.

Heh heh, just until she gets her own bike. We are looking at the naked 500 twin Honda just came out with. She commented to me that motorcycling is much more fun than road bicycling but it's harder to be the passenger than to ride your own bike. It takes a certain kind of person to be a good pillion rider.

I was considering one of the 500s myself until I saw the 1100. I was pushing my wife to get the CB500, but she opted for the CTX700's more cruiser-like looks and riding position.

I bought the Corbin seat with the backrest. It is really very comfortable.

Does the Corbin seat encourage you to sit back, into the "fold"? For me, on the stock seat , I tend to sit a few inches back from the tank, but it always feels like I am sliding forward...

I would like to know about that Corbin as well as it is my next purchase for the bike. I had the Gunfighter & Lady with the backrest for the FZ-1 and it was great for long rides, flat and wide. My daughter loved it. Only issue was it makes it harder get your feet on the ground if you are short like me. I also had to modify the seat a lot to make it work. It was rubbing through the tank into the metal when I noticed the problem.
