What rock?

Motorcycle touring is a great time. My wife and I started touring in 1973 and 40 years later are still at it. I would probably not tour two up on a CB 11 but it makes a fine solo tourer with some soft luggage and maybe a windshield to break the wind. Been all over this country and some of Europe. Only the European tour was guided. The rest we did on our own. If you figure 200-300 miles a day with beginning and ending points near population centers, its not hard to find lodging, and in this country there is gas and food nearly everywhere. Plan on getting hot, cold, wet and saddle sore. It's all part of the experience, but the rewards are well worth any inconveniences when you see what this country has to offer.

Nantucket is a tiny island off Mass, more of a sand bar really. ACK are the airport letters. Keep an eye out, you'll see an oval ACK sticker on a car out there I guarantee. People love this place, I see plates from all the 48.
No nothin' out here bike wise........

My wife and I went to Bar Harbor a couple years ago, came back thru Mass. About the only thing I remember are the unusual color of the Mass police cars and the incredible number of them as we came out of NH.Bet we saw 25 in a 50 mile stretch.

No Dought, even out here they have over 15 cruisers, 5 unmarked and 2 state troopers on patrol. They have an all new 15 million dollar Police station they built for the town cops. I have to say they are great with the locals, I get away with alot.

Been to Nantucket twice visiting with friends from Yarmouth. Rode the fast ferry over. Would love to tool around a bit on a bike there, but can see how it would quickly become a bit of a drag. Best part was seeing where they filmed some of the movie "One Crazy Summer"... Nobody I was with had a clue. But they named a character Ack...Wait a second...

ACK are the letters for the airport. Don't forget "Wings". That show was about all I knew about this place when I moved here and it's nothing like that. Those small, normal looking houses on the beach are 5+ million or 5 to 10k a WEEK to rent in season. I'm stuck renting, never being able to afford a house out here. The bike is my mortgage Big Grin. I'd bet there are over 100 places worth 25 million or more. Anyone wanting a laugh check out a Nantucket real estate page, you'll swear they must be missprints.
Nice place to visit, but................

"One Crazy Summer" I loved that movie! Didn't the little girl have a dog that wore an Elizabethan collar the whole movie? And had puppies that had them too?

And put the bully's car engine in their boat? Great mindless Summer movie. Smile Yeah I liked it Blush

So there really IS "a man from Nantucket."

I thought they made it up to have something to rhyme with "bucket."
