My Short Block

OK, here is a trip around my "Short Block". It took about 11 minutes real time since I was taking it easy, but this is sped up 8X. I wanted to try the new handlebar mount I had gotten for my Gopro.





This is also my first time embedding a video here, so I wanted to see how that went.

Just after I pull out of the driveway there is a deer about 200 yards down the road just standing there, but I don't think you can see it in the video. It moved after I honked and got about 50 yards away. As much as I love the scenery and riding up here, the bad side is I have yet to be out on this bike at any time of the day and not see a deer on or near the road.

I like the Idea of having the camera mounted to the bike, but now I also get why people mount them to there chest to get them up higher.

Yah, about the music. I love me some Irish Punk too, but I don't necessarily have the rights to that, so I guess it may be taken down off YouTube. But when I sped it up, the gopro editor stripped the mic off (it didn't sound very good anyway), so I had to add something.

Thank You Shdwghst. My real name is Steven, but online I've almost always used the alias John Nevets. It's only recently that I've started using my real name online more. So, I really don't mind at all if folks use John (it does make sense). I did debate even using that on the Registry, but thought that sort of defeated the point of the registry. As some of you might have guessed Nevets, is Steven backwards and John is both my fathers name and my middle name. I think I've used some version of that for 15+ years online. Apparently I'm not the only one who likes to use my name backwards. Supposedly there is an old school text game called Evets.

Hiker I normally agree with you, but since this was the first time out on the bike with the gopro, I didn't realize that the waterproof housing would muffle are already quite exhaust so much, plus there was a weird rattle it was picking up, It sounded like plastic on plastic, not sure what that was, but I'm pretty sure it had to to with how the camera was mounted. Also when I used the very simple gopro editor to move it over at 8x speed, it automatically removed the audio. I thought about adding a bit of real time video at the beginning with the audio, but decided against it for now. Next time I will probably do things a bit differently.

SteveJohn, use the skeleton backing to un-mute the mic a bit. I would've picked up on on the Steven-backwards bit anyway; dyslexia causes it to stick out like a sore thumb. Or maybe I'm not dyslexic and just read EVERYTHING backwards. Self-diagnosis!
