Sunday ride in Portugal

This Sunday, taking advantage of the summer weather we’re having here in Portugal, a couple of regular biking friends and I decided on a quick jaunt across the river to the Arrábida National Park.
The road itself is a loop around the Arrábida mountain range, approximately 30 km long, with some nice twisties and gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean.

There were 4 bikes in total, including my cb1100, a Yamaha MT09, a Harley Sporster and a Moto Guzzi Norge.

Meeting in Lisbon for morning coffee, we crossed the 25 de Abril bridge across the Tagus River and headed to Arrábida. We stopped for some pictures and a few minutes of chat on the high pass and headed to Figueirinha beach for some cold refreshments.







After properly… watered…, and registering some photographic proof of our presence, we headed back and stopped for lunch at Maçã Camping Park, where, if you are ever in the neighborhood, I would recommend you try the ribs.

Properly fed, we returned to Lisbon. All in all, I clocked around 140 km of a very enjoyable ride.

Ghost..what rear rack is that? difficult to install and remove?

It's a Givi rack.

It's not that hard to install, although access to the bolts is harder than it should be (they tend to fall out when you try to tighten them). I’d say the process is somewhat similar to installing the original Honda rack.

Although I prefer the “clean” look, the rack does come in handy to carry some luggage when you are riding with a pillion, which is usually my case.

I'm not the most mechanically inclined individual, so I just leave the thing on the bike.

Yea I prefer the clean look too and my bike was stripped naked as soon as I returned from the rally, before I even unpacked, but that rack would sure come in handy for trips. I like the ones with the little flipped bar behind the seat.

The Givi was the more easily accessible rack in Portugal, and it doubles as a grab bar for my wife. I looked at Samurider for some alternatives, but import duties and tax make it very expensive to order from Japan.
From what I can gather from your tutorials (I have you to thank for the suggestion on the Kawa gaiters), it shouldn’t take you more than 15 minutes to install and remove the thing from the bike.
