Glad you are OK... With more and more lunatics riding rashly, hitting riders down and fleeing the scene, guess it would be a good investment for riders to get cameras ..we could atleast trace out who these escape artists are..

Spaceman, there was a discussion about the "flash to pass" trigger [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3549&pid=52219#pid52219]here. I was going to post about it being useful only on those days when the James Bond fantasy is upon me and I dream of being able to flick it and launch a missile or two to rid the world of cagers who richly deserve it.

Perhaps you could invent a muffler that contains a reasonable store of missiles that can be deployed with the flick-to-pass trigger so we can make sure, at an individual level, that Karma does its job.

Bummer, but we must count our blessings.... you are relatively OK and the bike can be easily fixed.

Scary world out there for motorcyclists, we don't have much protection from idiots in cars, or animals, or climactic conditions in a lot of cases.

Glad you are able to post and let us know you are alright.

Glad you weren't seriously injured. Can't believe the callous disregard of some drivers for the well being of others. Hope you heal quickly.

Sorry to hear about you going down J. Mate, it happens to the best of us and it's an awful experience. Have a good rest up and you'll be back burning up the bitumen in no time!

thanks everyone, i wil try to rest but knowing myself i cant stay still or at the house for long i need to keep moving and keeping myself busy soo i will take it easy. as far as me going down, im grateful nothing serious happened to me. i tried to avoid the rain when i have the bike because i was scared of me going down. it sucks that my first time out in actual rainy weather ended up this way, the day i say to hell with it i need to get use to it because youll never know when you might get caught in it and bam, i got more than what i was looking for lol.

i think part of the reason why i wasnt so badly hurt neither was because they had just recently repaved the entire road, before the road i was on was full of ditches, bumps, craters and ect. it also helped that i stayed calm, let go of the bike and just slid on the chest protector using my hands to stop and try to stay on a course away from the woods. i recommend people to get one of those vest aside that they look "kool" they do help in situations like this one i think i would have been nipple-less with out it lol.

i was surprised i wasnt mad about the condition of the bike maybe it was all channeled to the (several foul words) driver who left me there.

i have been telling myself to get a gopro or something of that sort for awhile because of the amount of reckless drivers i have noticed and had some close encounters with since i have started driving. i will make it a priority to invest in one before my next ride.

as far as the bike goes on the right side, the muffler is dented and scratched up in a few spots, the brake lever is wobbly and the tip is shaved flat clean as well as the handlebar weight, the small cover on the engine is scrapped, the turn signals are scrapped and parts of it are melted flat, foot peg snapped off, mirror is dented and scrapped, and one of the lines are scrapped flat.

facing front at the base of the handle bars is twisted a bit, the cluster is all chewed up (including the wires and connecter pins in it), and the headlight housing is chewed up as well.

on the left the fuel tank has a dent and the clutch arm peg is bent up

the good thing is the bike still turns on and changes gears, i didnt ride it but i stood by and checked off the bike. i really loved the bike it was my first and as far as riding some of the bikes my friends have the comfort and torque of my bike to theirs just doesnt compare. but i really hope they just total it and give me the money to replace it with a new one. for me when something i drive gets crashed i cant really look at it the same. however, if they allow me to fix it and instead of replacing the muffler, turn signals, tank, and other small things with factory ones i could get aftermarket parts i may consider fixing it =D.

I really feel sorry for you but hopefully you will be ok soon.
Hang in there and it all can be repaired or replaced on your bike.
Your life and well being is the most important , for you and your family.

Really to bad about your fall - hope you heal fast. I hate tailgaters- I always try to flick my brake light on a few times to see if they back off - most do. When it starts to rain I always pull over to put my rain suit on but it also helps because when it starts to rain a lot of crap
floats or run off the roadway when it first gets wet.
