Great photos Grinton. I' ex always had a soft spot for the Suzuki 750 2-stroke. And I want to know who owns the Vincent and how she got hold of the kitchen colander that went missing a while ago. Good use for it though.

That's actually really cool. I love the modded out Viragos, never seen one with that much work into it though.

I had no idea anyone made a rotary engined bike. I knew a bloke once who put a Mazda rotary in a sidecar outfit for racing. The CB500 is, in my opinion, the best looking of those bikes. They were lovely machines.

The first one to the market was the Hercules W-2000 from a German company: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hercules_W_2000

It was ugly, expensive, with bad mpg and a lot of problems. So it didn't succeed. However, in the late 70th about 1,800 of this bike were sold in Germany.

Somehow true and somehow only half true.

When I started motorbiking, I bought a W2000 as a used one from a neighbor who owned two. They were not ugly but special looking, like a hovercraft
or a vacuum cleaner.

For sure, the mpg wasn't that good and the engine takes a lot fuel and 2 stroke oil for it's 27 HP. That was a long time ago...

Nevertheless, the bike had good and equal torque, which made it very easy to ride.
A bit like the CB. One negative point was, that the carburettour hangs above the engine and in colder weather it start's to get frozen, because it was not heated by the warmth of the motor. And than it didn't run well, an engineers shortcut.

Today, I would like to ride it again just to refresh my memory and because of it's a rare and very seldom motorbike not often known by bikers. Each motorbike has its own way to spread delightment wether you find it out or not even develop a sense for it.
