Yes today LR rode one of his Beemers.

Todays ride can only be described as an adventure. We had everything today. Sun shine and beautiful roads, up to Loveland Pass ( 11,990 feet) and down the other side. A great brunch in Dillon by the lake. A ride thru Gore Pass (9524 ft) and Tennesee Pass (10, 424 ft) . We got stuck in a horrible traffic jam due to a crash in the heat in Avon I think. Then we rode some more curvy roads over to Leadville. After Leadville we rode down Freemont Pass (11,318 Ft) and it started raining, hard, then it turned to hail and that piled up on the road so heavy it looked like snow. At Copper Mountain something we dodged into a gas station. The fog rolled in and it continued to rain. We were going to go over Loveland Pass the other direction, but it looked like it might be snowing up there so we opted just to slab it home in the rain. 3 Continental Divide Crossings today. We also rode thru a tunnel 1 1/2 miles long that sits at 11, 158 feet that really cool and the highest point on the US interstate system called the Eisenhour Tunnel. 304 miles today!

One word, two syllables: Gore-Tex. I think the ferret and offroad are becoming convinced it's a worthwhile requirement for motorcycling gear, at least when riding around here! My goodness, we experienced just about everything Ma Nature could dish out today.

It's been such a pleasure riding with these guys! These boys can really haul the mail, and on unfamiliar roads to boot! Where shall we venture tomorrow?

Stunning scenery and 'adventure' sounds appropriate! One thing I like about touring with others is that you can't wimp out and run back to the barn. You're more motivated to press through the weather adversity and let the fun continue!

Ferret. Since you brought up the Eisenhower Tunnel. My step grandfather laid many of the explosive charges that blasted that tunnel through the mountain. Been through it many, many times.

I'd love to be tagging along with you guys. Unfortunately for me even though I live in CO I am out of state this week and next so it's not to be.
