Spotwalla Maps In My Ride Reports?
#1

I've been using a Spot Gen3 tracker for my rides since my trip to the Arkansas rally. It took a little work to get things going, but I now store the trips on a site called Spotwalla. I'm sure that many of you know about this site, but it was new to me.

So, what I want to know is a) can you access the map linked below? If so, b) can you click on the dots to get the data from that point? and c) would a link like this a helpful or interesting inclusion in my reports?

https://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=...howAll=yes

Thanks,

MTC

Hey MTC,

That's pretty cool. I was considering Spot for airplane use many years ago. Looks like they've come a long way in their tech since then.

I was able to access the map and I was able to click on the dots to get the detailed info. So much for A & B. As for C, I'm not sure I'd be all that interested in your exact speed, bearing and nav coordinates every few minutes of the ride (unless you were doing something unusual like going 112 mph Big Grin ). The big picture on the map tells the story pretty well.

Like Flyn I could access the map, I could click on a dot for data. The route is good to see, but seeing the data is something I doubt I would do very often

It'll be very cool when clicked dot plays a looping 7 second video from the integrated headlight cam. Beer

You say that now, but I am pretty sure that you'll be clicking on the dots on my forthcoming Rally write up to prove that I hit 70. LOL

LOL I can add a picture to each dot. I'm looking to see if I can link the dot to a video instead. I doubt it will work, but we will see.
And so.... you CAN link to a video! if you find point 44 on the map (it's the one just west of Waterford) and then click where it says "click to enlarge" you can see my RLET install video. I didn't have video from the trip, but if I ever get that capability, it would be a matter of syncing the video to the spot on the map. It's possible at least. LOL
