What a delightful bit of reading while sitting here with a cup of hot tea and a bowl of rice crispies with banana slices.

Beautiful pictures of cool roads and scenery with interesting tid bits added and glimpses of my two favorite Aussies (who I've personally met!) riding one of the finest motorcycles on the planet. Love the matching side covers btw. How it should have come.

Bravo Cormanus and Pterodactyl, Bravo. Clap Worship

Love the 2 lane roads, scenery and the maps!

Very much appreciate your bread comments.
Used to enjoy brown bread in Solvang, California, but have not been there for a few years.

Planned to travel to Australia circa 1967-1969, when I was stationed in southeast Asia; but I met my wife-to-be and that changed my focus.

Had rides lined up in a B57 Canberra, F4 Phantom, F102 (trainer model), but a sub-sonic T33 was all I did before meeting her.

Taking a small nibble at this feast in between work calls. Only want to say at this point that, until this very moment, I was reading member noroomtomove's user name as "noromotive" which I assumed was some sort of combination of "norovirus" and "automotive".

I appear to need better focus, whether through stronger glasses or a stronger mind. LOL OK back to the story....

Still haven't had time to read every word of The Dolt Report. I stopped at the gin reference. Are you a gin drinker, Cormanus? One of my riding buddies, Mike, and I are considered "Gin snobs" by the others in our group. I did not like that term and suggest that we be referred to as "Gin Aficionados" or better still, "Juniperists", to which Laura replied "The fact that you could come up with 'Juniperist' only proves that you're a gin snob".

Most adult-beverage "snobs" in the US fall in to the Wine, Whiskey, or Beer categories. There seems to be just a select few of us "Juniperists" around these parts.

I’m not a gin drinker, EmptySea, I think because I had an unhappy experience with it as a teenager. It made me a misfit in my family of enthusiastic gin drinkers. I’ve since wondered if it’s because I really dislike Indian tonic water. I enjoyed McHenry’s offerings which I drank neat. I’ve also enjoyed sloe gin a couple of times recently.

I’m blowed if I’ll be any sort of alcohol snob. As a former colleague was fond of saying, “I only drink for the effect”.

Almost every person I know that drinks, but not gin, refrains from gin because of an unhappy experience with it as a teen. I encountered a similar unhappy experience as a teen, but I realized in hindsight that it was due to drinking cheap gin. This of course has lead me an adult toward seeking out good quality gin which in turn lured me into Juniperism. Wink

Sloe gin is not my thing, but it's good in certain cocktails.

When (not if) we meet, I believe that a conversation over a cocktail is imperative. Hmmm... so I guess an aperitif would be imperative. ROFL

I’ll look forward to that, EmptySea.

And, yes, Ulvetanna, people do ride this bike and manage to have a fair bit of fun to boot. More off highways in my experience.

Posts like this are what make this forum stand out. Thank you for writing everything up! I've devoured every word after slowly working my way into the morning over a cup of coffee after a late night out with our international coworkers. Perfect way to dust off the cobwebs of last night. Smile
