I have never seen a medical bill from the Province of Ontario for any of my hospital visits, scans, gall bladder and prostate gland surgeries.
For things not covered by the Province, Penny's medical program from her employer covers us both until death. They do have yearly limits for dentistry, glasses, physiotherapy, etc. But they provide enough to cover these costs. That included the $45 ambulance fees for my kidney stone visits to the hospital.
Without these coverages I would have to sell a kidney to pay for the medical expenses I have incurred over the last 5 years.

I do appreciate having a community of motorcyclists to share/vent with who understand my perspective and the risks we accept and take.
As all of us know, we meet two kinds of people:
TYPE 1:
US: I ride a motorcycle.
THEM: Wow, cool ... that's really awesome!
TYPE 2:
US: I ride a motorcycle.
THEM: (silently looks at you disapprovingly like you are suicidal)

Maybe it varies with the hospital.
I have seen a few and I am glad to appreciate what the costs are to the province. It is good to be aware and able to discuss these matters with the community.

TYPE 3:
THEM: I want a motorcycle. How much are they? Is it hard to learn? How about a scooter?
US: Sure, I can provide some guidance.
THEM: [3 weeks later] Scooter? Heck, no. I just bought a new cage, err, um, new car.

Or as an old car club friend of mine said after I posted my CB purchase on Facebook:
HE: "My wife won't let me have a motorcycle."
ME: "Funny ... my motorcycle won't let me have a wife."
He did manage to convince her to let him take flying lessons.
