The gauges at night.
#1

I was riding home last night when I noticed something I had never noticed before. The gauges (RPM & TACH) on the CB1100 are almost aqua in color in the daytime. The odometer is a clear color with the numbers in bold black. At night the odometer turns into a blue hue and the gauges go dark. What will I notice next![/size]

Keep on noticing, Hiram. I was riding mine the other day and accidentally found a flasher button. All these years, I've been manually fast switching my headlight switch from low to high repeatedly in order to warn cars of my approach. When did they come out with this wonderful flasher button? Nice to know about even if I didn't get the memo originally...

Jerry,
Some guys have installed a little module that hooks up with that flasher switch. When you pull up to your house, you flash the headlight twice quickly and the module transmits to your garage and opens the garage door.

Ok, that's assuming you have an electric garage door opener...

Ridem posted pics on this a while back and demo'd it for me. Was cool.

I'll have to do some looking around. His user name is ridem32. He doesn't post anymore.

I think that Ridem removed his posts related to the headlight/door opener mod. In the thread I thought contained the instructions, he replaced all his posts with "CB1100".

Hey popgun, I'll save you some time since I was curious about this too. Here's the thread:

The device is called flash2pass but I'm sensing that there's not many around anymore since I can only find them on eBay and the company itself has them on backorder.

Here's their link:

Thanks Setchman. It did work good though. Ridem showed it to me when I was at his house. And the module was small and mounted in the headlight shell.

ES, Ridem had a disagreement with board management. That's all I'm saying about it.

Is it just me or do you need some fuel in that thing? Maybe that's why the tach is on zero... Smile
