I'd say it's coming along great! I expected it to look a lot worse!

I went on the BRP for a ride to the Pisgah Inn , they were going to open on April 1 but now post phoned till May 1. LOTS of cars on the BRP with people hiking on the trails. Going on my bike and not even stopping once is no problem in my opinion. I always gas up at home before a ride.

Good news, Gone in 60. And the Escape is looking good. Did it occur to you being out of condition is also a product of your having been pretty ill for a while before Covid set in?

Thank you, gentlemen! That shows what three rainy days locked in the garage with nothing better to do will achieve. My wife says I should be a professional detailer, but I have a maniacal sense of perfection when it comes to vehicle cleanliness. Rather than taking three days to do that, if I were to make any money, I'd need to do three of those in one day. I'd go broke.

Yesterday, I went to collect my wife and finally bring her home from Fallbrook after she was confident that her Mom could manage herself for a few days. She can't drive currently due to a condition that she's recovering from. I told her that I wanted to drive her Dad's Ford for the back-and-forth trips to burn the rotting smells out of the engine, which gave her pause as she remembered the car in its former condition. When I arrived, she said "Lay a sheet down in the back, I don't want my things to get dirty." When I showed her the car, she was very impressed. Other than the smell, which I really hope goes away soon.

My goodness, Cormanus, you have an excellent memory. Yes, I was hobbled by pneumonia over the holidays. I fully recovered by January, and looked forward to my event season kicking off, which would afford a great deal of strenuous outdoor work, putting me back in fighting shape. Unfortunately, we just got two events in before the lockdown, so I didn't get in as much of a workout as normal before I started living on the couch when the world stopped. My wife and I have been walking and doing some workout videos on TV, but it's not really the same as lugging tents and equipment around.

Peterbaron, you must have spoken to my wife. Being a medical professional, any time I have a thought about leaving the house, she puts me in a mask, puts a bandana over the mask, and puts gloves on me.

Masks are becoming mandatory all around Southern California. I've been plugging away on the old Ford, and did another pass at disinfecting and rehabilitating the engine compartment. Needing some replacement insulation and weatherstrip pieces, yesterday I went to two junkyards. It was funny to see "Social Distancing, Stay Six Feet Apart" signs in a vast, muddy, pick-a-part junkyard. One had a big sign board out front saying "No Masky, No Entry!" They had stacked up a bunch of old tires in front of the pay booth on the way out to keep people from getting too close to the cashier.
